Mask questions, answered

PETG shells, fit and wear, painting, production time, shipping, bulk orders, and safety. The Terms of Service is the policy of record for orders and returns; this page is the plain-language version.

Ordering and what you receive

What does “unfinished” mean?

The shell has not been sanded, primed, painted, or sealed. It is intended for post-processing and custom finishing.

What is a PETG mask shell?

It is an unfinished 3D printed mask printed in PETG, a tough plastic that tolerates sanding, filler, primer, and paint. Layer lines, seams, support marks, and small cosmetic print artifacts are normal on an unfinished print and are not defects.

Do the masks come with straps or padding?

Strap openings are printed into every shell, but straps, elastic, foam padding, and hardware are not included. Most builders add 1-inch elastic or webbing, and some line the inside with foam for comfort.

Do you sell the 3D print files or blank shells in bulk?

We sell physical masks, including PETG shells and finished designs; STL files are not distributed. For groups, haunts, or productions, order 20 or more masks to receive the automatic 20% discount and request a separate bulk quote before paying.

Fit and wearing

Are the masks wearable?

Yes. Strap openings are part of the shell, but the strap system is not included. Coverage, visibility, and fit vary by design.

Will the mask fit me?

Masks are wearable costume shells sized for a typical adult head, but fit varies by design and is not adjustable. Check the photos and fit details on the product page before ordering, and treat a mask as a costume prop rather than a precision-fit item.

Finishing and painting

How do I paint a 3D printed mask?

Sand the surface, fill any gaps, then prime with a plastic-compatible primer. Build colour in thin coats, use a wash in the recesses and dry-brushing on the raised edges, and finish with a matte or satin clear coat. Our guide How to paint a 3D printed mask covers the full sequence, grits, and pitfalls.

Production, shipping, and returns

How long does production take?

Each mask is made after purchase. Allow up to two weeks for production before shipment.

How much is shipping, and where do you ship?

We ship within the United States only. International shipping is not available. Shipping cost and the delivery address are confirmed in Stripe Checkout before payment. Production time is separate from delivery time.

Can I cancel or return an order?

Products are made to order, so refunds, cancellations, returns, and exchanges are not guaranteed and are reviewed case by case. Report damage, an incorrect item, or a materially misdescribed order within 7 calendar days of delivery with photos. See the Terms of Service for the full policy.

Safety

Can the masks be worn outdoors or used as protective equipment?

No. Masks are costume and display products, not protective equipment. They can restrict vision, hearing, and airflow, so never use one while driving, operating machinery, near open flame or heat, or anywhere impaired visibility or breathing is dangerous.
